Keith has been a Funeral Director for over 20 years. He and his wife Cindy purchased Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in 2006. He enjoys living in this wonderful community and serving it's residents. Keith grew up in Benton City, Washington and has worked as a funeral director in Show Low, Arizona, Portland and Pendleton, Oregon. He graduated from Mt. Hood Community College's Mortuary Science program in 1995. He and his wife Cindy have been married since 1991 and have three wonderful children; Isaiah, Miranda and Carly. Keith served as Deputy Coroner for Pend Oreille County for 18 years, and is currently the Mayor of Newport, WA.

Kerry Allemand

Kerry joined Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in 1995. He was born and raised in Ellensburg, Washington. He has been married to his wife Lori for 19 years. Together they have two boys Dayton and Trevor. Kerry enjoys hunting, fishing and working in his yard. He is a member of the Newport Fire Department, and the Pend Oreille Search and Rescue. Kerry served in Pend Oreille County for 18 years as Deputy Coroner as well.

Brandon Runckel lives in Priest River, Idaho with his wife Sarah Runckel and serves in the local community as the Pastor of West Branch Bible church. His hobbies include stop motion animation and cave exploring. He and his wife also enjoys fishing on many of the beautiful lakes in the area. Brandon also serves as a death investigator for Pend Oreille County.

She is often found teaching her class on obituary writing or helping families pre-planning their final wishes. During the summer months she and her husband Bob can be found at their vacation place in Ione, Washington.

Laurie joined Sherman-Campbell Funeral Home in 2021 as the secretary/office manager and folder designer.
For 35 years I told stories through a camera lens, capturing moments so people could feel as much as they could see.
Four years ago I carried that storyteller’s eye into a new calling: creating bespoke memorial folders. What she does for families.

Every design is built from scratch for the person being honored.
I weave together family-chosen photos with meaningful backdrops—waterfalls, coastlines, forests—so each folder feels like a visual love-letter to a life.
Layout, color, and composition draw on my decades of photography to balance beauty with emotional resonance.
Story-driven details
I listen for recipes, sayings, poems, hobbies—anything that whispers “this was them.”
These intimate touches turn a program into a keepsake families return to long after the service.
How I approach the folders
Presence – I give each family and loved one my full attention, honoring their story with reverence.
Artistry – Years behind the camera trained my eye for light, texture, and composition; I translate that into print.
Empathy without accumulation – I feel each story deeply while I’m creating, then release it to stay grounded for the next family.
Why it matters
These folders and words are often the first tangible thing a family holds after loss. My goal is to hand them something that quietly says:
“Your person mattered. Here is their story—held with care, beauty, and respect.”
That sacred intersection of art and grief is where I work, one life at a time.

Karina has been with the Sherman-Campbell team since the Spring of 2022. The light of her life is her two boys Mason and Graham.
