Oct 7, 1974 — Apr 2, 2024
Newport
Theodore William Groves (Ted)
October 7th 1974- April 2nd 2024.
49 years old.
A loving son to Kenneth and Elwanda Groves.
A caring brother to Crystal Sokolowski and Kerry Groves.
An amazing father to Taven Groves.
Was a loving husband to Tamara Burnett.
Ted was an amazing person. His heart was always in the right place no matter what battle he was facing. His love was radiant and his laugh was contagious. This man would do anything for his family.
He worked numerous jobs to support his family, whatever it would take. His favorite point in life, aside from his best friend Taven coming into this world, was playing the drums. He played in a band with Tamara and their good friend Frank. Nighthawk was rockin out! He loved every minute of it. You can hear and see the passion when he would play.
He took care of his parents and looked after his son each day. There wasn't a day that went by where he wouldn't check up on his son. There wasn't a day that went by where we didn't love this man. There wasn't a day that went by he didn't say "thank you." He was known for lighting up the room. His laugh would echo through the house and cheer everyone up. His corky ideas, and crazy nick nacks will never be forgotten. He was challenged with heart issues and was told he didn't have long to live. Even with a sick heart he still had a caring heart. He didnt want anyone to worry. A heart so big I can only have half the love he had for everyone.
He was ready to make a change in his life. He wanted to live a long life. He had plans to attend his sons wedding. He had plans to help raise his grandchildren someday. He had plans to buy his own home and get on the right path God attended for him. He had plans to be with his brother and sister more. This I know. He had plans to be with all his nieces and nephews more. This I know. He had plans to pay off his parents mortgage someday. He always wanted to give and never needed anything in return.
With all the plans he's had, the last thing he would want of us is to cancel ours. Let's do what he would want, follow through with your plans and goals and stick to it. Dont give up and dont quit. Even though he isn't with us today in flesh, he will always be here in spirit. We all have a Guardian Angel looking over us each step of the way now.
Ted was an amazing poet and was always writing down his thoughts and ideas. He created his own blog for everyone to see.

Here's one of my favorite.
"Who am I?"
By Ted Groves
"Remember who you are, that they dont care what you think, cuz the minute you go and change your thoughts, thats about the time you start giving up.
Being the life of the party, makin everyone laugh, but what if everyones happy, and you're the only one whos sad, filling you up, pulling you down.
When you think you're expected to be so perfect, make a mistake, forget about it, stop trying to impress and just be yourself!
If you live your life, always through others eyes, eventually youll become someone you cant recognize, no reflection looking back at you!
Now aint that a trip, we all know who we are, embrace it, let it go, just dont ever hide who you are inside, cuz the day you do, you might as well die. Cease to exist, time to say goodbye."
Rest in peace dad, we will make you proud every step we take on this earth.
