Obituary

Ted E. Newman

1956 – 2021

Teddy Newman- husband of 46 years, father, brother, son, and grandfather, uncle-passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on April 17 th , 2021, after a short battle with an inoperable brain tumor. He fought hard and spent every waking moment with his family, making memories that will forever be cherished.

Born September 26 th , 1956, in Ione, Washington, Teddy was the oldest son of Ted and Anne Newman. He attended school at Selkirk, graduated, and married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Newman. Teddy followed in his father's footsteps and built a life for his family working in the woods and driving log truck. In the beginning, he shared in a logging business with his father in Pend Oreille County, followed by more logging with the Newmans in Oregon and then returned to Washington where he continued working in the timber industry. Most recently he worked in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, where he used his trucking skills to support the oil industry. Teddy really enjoyed driving, not only for a living, but for fun as well. He spent much of his time-off, traveling to see extended family in Oregon. Conversations came easy to Ted and he made a lifetime of friends that spread from Anchorage down to California.

He will be remembered for his teasing jokes, entertaining stories, generous smile, and willingness to help anyone in need. If Teddy ever slipped you money for no apparent reason at all, you know what we mean.

Ted is survived by his wife, Patricia Newman; two sons, Josh (Tara) of Deer Park, WA. and Scott (Nicole) of Rathdrum, ID; ten loving grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ted leaves behind his mother, Anne and brothers, Matt, Ben and Luke and sisters Cindy, Teresa, Sandy and Tammy. He was preceded in death by his father Ted, sister Randalin and youngest son, Dallas.

Please join us in celebrating Teddy's life on Sunday, April 25 th, 1:00 pm at the American Legion Hall in Cusick, Washington.
