With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Susan (Susie) Marie McClendon. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who passed away at her home in Laclede, Idaho on January 19th, 2024, at the age of 69. Susie's life was one of adventure, great times, and cherished memories. The most profound turning point in her life took place while visiting her brother Bill in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. She met the love of her life, Richard, whom she married and lived a blessed life for many years. Heartache would hit in 2009 when Richard unexpectedly passed away a few months before they were set to retire together. Susie eventually moved on with her life and ultimately ended up in a beautiful town in Idaho where she lived her final years with David by her side. Susie was known for her expertise in cooking and her love for gardening. She could make pulling in a prize-sized marlin look easy. She was the life of every party, generous to all, and more importantly she was kind. Susie is probably up in heaven watching the Longhorns on Saturdays, rooting on Donald Trump to win, and sipping on a cold one with Jimmy Buffet. She will forever be missed but never forgotten. May you rest in eternal peace, Mom. Susie was preceded in death by her husband Richard, her fiancé David, her parents Bill and Eleanore, and her in-laws Carl, Justine, Matt and Matthew McClendon. Susie leaves behind her daughter Danielle (Chad) Kubasiak, her son Chris (Lindsey) Pompileo, her granddaughters Lauryn Coffey and Skylar Anderson, her grandsons Michael Coffey, Peyton Anderson, Gage and Luca Pompileo, her brothers Bill and Jeff Woodman, her in-laws Travis and Cathy McClendon, her numerous nieces and nephews, and her good friends Jaime and Brian Martinez.
