Obituary

Steven Michael Coryat was born October 31st, 1960 at Lockbourne Air Force Base, Ohio to James and Wally Coryat.  Steve lost his battle with cancer on March 17th, 2025 surrounded by family and close friends.

Steve graduated from Mead High School and spent most of his career in the restaurant business, the last being Wild Sage American Bistro where he worked for 12 years with people he adored.  He was also a very talented remodel contractor.  He spent the last 18 months working on his dream property on the Pend Oreille River.

Steve had a love for life and people.  He had the best sense of humor and was so funny.  Anyone that knew him, loved him.  He had many passions including water sports, diving, snow skiing, and dirt biking with his many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Wally.

Steve is survived by his fiancé, Debbie VanSlyke, his sister Monica Satterthwaite (Jeff), brother Jim Coryat (Regina), sister Valerie Coryat, son Kyle Coryat, Debbie's daughter Bella Mattson (Carter) and stepdaughter Ariel Murch, grandchildren Macy, Brooke, and Baker, and many nephews and nieces.

A celebration of life will be held at Big Barn Brewing Company, 16004 N Applewood Ln, Mead, WA on Monday, April 28th from 2:00 – 7:00PM, open house style.
