The Obituary of Sandra Lynn Magers

November 8th, 1944 - July 10th, 2026

Our Ray of Sunshine

(Written as if Sandy could have sent it herself.)

Dear family and friends;

I wanted to let you know that my big departure day finally came!!  On July 10th, in the early hours of the morning, at the ripe old age of 81, my old body finally conked out, and I am rejoicing today in my Heavenly Home coming.

My sweet family was with me as I passed from this life, to eternity.

I was born November 8, 1944 in Colfax, Wa to Archie and Matilda Brunner.  While I was their only child, I had cousins!  Kathy Jill especially, just about the same age as me, was one of those 'sister' cousins. My cousins and I spent many wonderful summers at the family farm in Farmington, WA.

When I was a young girl, my parents moved us to Nordman. That's really where I grew up, and you'll even find some old pictures of me and my family in the local Museum archives.  I was a bit of a wild child, and when I wasn't getting into mischief with my best friend Jerry Lee, you could find me riding my horse Patches around the lake, berry picking, and swimming every chance I got.

I graduated from Priest River High School class of 1963, and went to Nursing School.  It was while I was working as a Nurse in Newport that my dog had a unfortunate encounter with my neighbor, which resulted in a dog bite. The local law enforcement came knocking on my door to get my side of the story. I was so embarrassed by the whole matter. You can imagine my surprise when just a few days later that same police officer asked me out on a date!  I was so impressed when he showed up in a shiny Thunderbird and took us out for dinner in Sandpoint.

I was so blessed to have been married to the love of my life for almost 50 years. My husband David went to be with the Lord in March of 2017.

I'm grateful to the Magers family, John and Alma Magers, my in laws who are already passed on. My brother in law Bill Magers, also with the Lord. My sister in law JoAnne Breach, their spouses, and many beautiful nephews and nieces.

I've been blessed to have so many dear friends and beautiful experiences over my life.  I taught Sunday School at Priest lake Community church, oh goodness, for something like 40 years!  Not to mention Girl Scouts, VBS, and Awanas.  I've always had such a fondness for young people, and especially those wild and wooly teenagers!  Needless to say, the big joy of my life was being a mother!

I've left behind my beautiful first born daughter Sharyn LaRee Borodina. I know she'll be missing me together with her husband Ruslan, and my precious grand daughters Gloria and Emily.  I'll be watching over you sweet ones, every day!

I also leave behind my wonderful son Robert Jon Magers, together with his wife Nicole and their most excellent and handsome son's Trysten, Keith and Collin. You are such a beautiful family, and I'm so thankful for you all!

My son Corey Glen Magers, left us far too soon.  But what a joy it is to be together with him again in Heaven. Corey left behind his beautiful wife Jennifer.  I love you Jen!!

Well, this announcement has gone on long enough.  Here's one last thing to remember above all else.  Just one name.  It's Jesus.  He makes everything all right in the end.  He's the what you find, when your at the end of your rope.  He's in the beautiful quiet of an early morning.  And if there is anything worth remembering about my humble life….it's because holding His hand through life's twists and turns brought me that taste of Heaven that I'm now savoring in all it's fullness.

It's pretty good up here sweet family and friends.  Make sure you get your lives right with our Lord, because I want to see you here one day….long from now of course.  I'll be watching over you in the mean time, and praising Jesus for each of your lives.
