Obituary

Roy William Adams was born on September 24, 1935, in Spokane, Washington, and passed away on March 25, 2022, at his home in Priest River, Idaho.

During his school years, Roy attended 13 different schools all over the Inland  Northwest as his father followed opportunities in the lumber industry.  After his graduation from Orofino, Idaho, High School, his family landed in Priest River and he decided he was done moving and this would be his home.

Soon he met his future wife, Marjorie Lohnes. Their's was largely a long distance courtship as he was drafted and entered the US Army in August of 1958. After completing his military service, he and Marge were married in October of 1960. On October 29, 2021, they celebrated  61 years of marriage. It was a relationship that inspired their family to treat each other with kindness and respect.

Their home in Priest River and his long career in the lumber business were a source of pride for Roy.  He started working at the EC Olson sawmill in 1957, then Diamond International, Crown Pacific, DAW and finally retired from Tri Pro Forest in 2000.

Roy loved sports, playing, watching or coaching. He played adult league baseball, coached youth baseball, coached his grandson's soccer team and bowled for many years. After his retirement he spent many after-school hours shooting hoops with the grandkids in the driveway.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Elsie Adams and is survived by his wife, Marjorie ( Marge ),  daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Don Brooks, grandchildren Sally Reynolds (Jason), Frank Brooks (Heidi) and Nolan Brooks (Jordan), and great grandchildren, Rowdy, Thomas and Vivian Reynolds, and Seth, Stella, Finn, Severide, and Watson Brooks.

A graveside service will be held at the Evergreen  Cemetery,  Priest River, on April 9, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow at the Priest River Event Center.
