Obituary

Robert Alvin "Bob" Denison (age 86) of Newport, Washington, entered heaven's gates on Thursday, October 12, 2023.  He was born on May 7, 1937 to Herbert William "Jack" and Loraine "Babe" Denison in White Salmon, Washington.  They moved the family many times during his childhood, but at some point in time, they ended up in Muskogee, Oklahoma where Robert met the love of his life, Martha May Sallee. Robert married Martha on July 13, 1957 in Elm Grove, Oklahoma.

Bob worked many jobs throughout his life, starting out as a pipeline operator, and traveling to many different parts of the country running machinery. One of their favorite places was Florida where he and Martha loved spending time with friends boating and skiing. They ended up back in Oklahoma after years of traveling where he owned a dairy farm for a few years and enjoyed feeding and caring for cows, so much so that he moved on to Texas to operate a large cattle ranch.  His love for the mountains eventually called him back to Washington, where he logged, ran machinery in the woods, and owned and operated a sawmill.  In 1990, Martha and Robert moved to the Auburn, Washington area where Robert worked for Lloyd Enterprises as a heavy equipment operator in a rock & gravel pit, which he enjoyed very much. He worked there until he and Martha retired from their jobs in 2002 and moved to Deer Park, where they remained. After losing his wife of 60 years, he spent the last 5 years living in Newport on the Pend Oreille River and rediscovered his love for being on the water, working on and restoring small boats. He enjoyed sitting outside watching the geese and ducks, listening to the eagles, the beauty of the seasons on the river, and spending time with family.
