Richard Edmund Bergeman, aged 95, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024, in Newport, Washington. Born on February 27, 1929, Richard lived a full and vibrant life marked by his deep love for his family, his passion for sports, and his unwavering kindness.

Richard married his high school sweetheart, Fannie Jane Greig, on November 25, 1949. Their union was blessed with love and four children, and they enjoyed 57 years of marriage until her passing in 2007. The family initially settled in Indiana, where they raised their children, before moving to Rockford, Illinois in 1974. Richard spent the remainder of his career in Rockford as a respected financial advisor, specializing in money markets, mutual funds, and life insurance. Upon retiring, Richard and Fannie moved to Priest River, Idaho in 1994, where they enjoyed their later years surrounded by nature.

A man of many interests, Richard was an avid gardener, fisherman, and golfer. He also loved watching sports, particularly football, basketball, and baseball. His commitment to his faith was evident in his active involvement in the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church.

Richard is survived by his loving children, Linda Morden-Bergeman, Deborah Bergeman, and Edmund Bergeman; son-in-law, Merle Morden; grandchildren, Alan, Carl, and Charles Rocha, Shari Jo Coomer, Lori Wikum, and Rebecca Lynn Bergeman; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Fannie; son, Lawrence; great-grandson, Christian Rocha; siblings, Jeri Niewendorp and Sharon Lewis; and his parents, Edmund R. and Dorothea Bergeman.

A Celebration of Life will be held at his residence in Priest River, Idaho, on October 6, 2024, at 2:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Cary Wacker.

Richard's legacy is one of love, generosity, and a life well-lived. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
