Rachel V Ward passed away May 19, 2024 at the age of 98.

Rachel was born February 16, 1926 in Dolores, Co. to Marcilous and Ella May Baysinger. She had four brothers and four sisters and was the second youngest of the family.

She married Walter Lee Ward on June 7, 1941 in Rico, Co who predeceased her April 9, 1994. They were married for nearly 53 years. She later married James Van Curler on August 16, 2007 who predeceased her October 29, 2008 when he lost his battle with cancer.

The family moved from Colorado to live in Idaho, Washington and a brief stay in California. Rachel worked as a private caregiver for several years when living in Spokane. Rachel & Lee enjoyed traveling and made several trips to CO. to visit relatives. They also traveled to AZ and CA. Camping, fishing and almost anything outdoors was also a favorite.

Rachel loved the Lord and often taught Sunday school classes for the younger children. Rachel and Lee were often asked to sing at the church services, which they thoroughly enjoyed. She will truly be missed but the Lord has called her home which she has been looking forward to.

Rachel is survived by daughters Lenora Castle, Hazel Johnston and a son Jerald (Marlene). Grandchildren Michele, Timothy, Sherri, Jeffry, Douglas, Gregory, Kathleen, Shannon & Justyn. Numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by daughter Rachel Cooper and an infant son Francis William. A service will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 2pm.
