Michael "Mike" Edward Williams (71) passed away peacefully April 26 th at home with family in Daphne, Alabama.
He was born on July 6, 1950, in Montana to Lee W. Williams and Jesse (Adams) Williams. He and his family settled in Priest River, ID when he was very young. He married his high school sweetheart in 1969 and moved to Los Angeles, CA, returning to Priest River briefly that same year for the birth of their first child. They then moved and settled in Lancaster, CA.
Mike's career in the grocery industry kept him moving often to open new stores and he and his family resided in Las Vegas, NV, Enid, OK, Tucson, AZ, Nashville, TN, Pensacola, FL eventually retiring and living with his daughter in Daphne, AL.
Mike was a sports enthusiast who played football in high school and as an adult was a strong golfer and enjoyed fast-pitch softball. He and his wife also were avid bowlers for most of their adult life. The family also enjoyed countless weekends water skiing with close friends and family.
He is survived by His two daughters Tammy (Williams) Crawford (and John Crawford), of Daphne, AL, Jaime (Williams) Laba (and Andy Laba), of Key West, FL, his two grandsons, Army SPC. Cody J. Palkovic of Fort Campbell, KY, Jesse L. Crawford, of Daphne, AL and countless family and friends mostly residing in the Pacific Northwest. He is preceded in death by his wife Marina L. (Krouse) Williams, his son, Robert L. Williams, his parents, his sisters Dolores (Williams) Krizenesky (and Jimmy Krizenesky), Maryann (Williams) Gilchrist (and Doug Gilchrist), and his brother Larry L. Williams.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 13 th at Evergreen Cemetery in Priest River, ID at 1 o'clock in the afternoon. There will be a celebration of life immediately following at a location to be determined by the weather. There will be an informal viewing Thursday, May12 from 12pm – 5pm at Sherman Campbell funeral home in Newport.
