MARGARET "MARGE" ESTELLE EIDEN (LAROCK)

August 3, 1935 – September 23, 2024

Marge passed away at her home in Spokane, WA after a short time on

Hospice. Marge was born in Bromide, Oklahoma to Alfred LaRock and

Chassie LaRock (Ellis) to a family of 11. She had seven sisters and one

brother. The family moved around throughout Oklahoma and Texas.

She met Henry "Hank" Eiden while he was stationed at James Connolly Air

Force Base (AFB) at Waco, Texas. They married in July 1955. They had two

girls, Jeanie Wolke (Eiden) and Lavina "Carol" Eiden (deceased). They

moved to Germany in 1959, where they resided until being transferred to

Moses Lake AFB, Moses Lake, WA. Assignments after Moses Lake included

Vandenberg, AFB in Lompoc, CA and Warner Robins AFB in Warner Robins,

GA. They returned to the Pacific Northwest and Fairchild AFB in 1968.

Their final move was to Diamond Lake, where she worked alongside Hank

helping to build their home. They traveled extensively after retiring and

becoming empty nesters, making several trips to Alaska and visiting friends

and family in various states. She sold their property and moved to Spokane

in 2016.

Marge was not a "joiner," but when she made a friend, it was a solid, long-

term friendship. She did, however, join the Diamond Lake Grange; many of

her friends were local Grange members. She joined the Diamond Lake

Grange in 1976 and held the position of Chairperson of Family Living since

2009. She also became a member of Pend Oreille County Pomona and held

the position of Flora. She enjoyed participating in the Grange and Pomona

baking and craft contests, often convincing her daughter and

granddaughter to participate. She loved to bake and cook for friends,

family, and for the contests. Many of her items (baking and crafts) went to

State Grange for judging, winning her numerous ribbons.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Sheila Ann Morris (20),

her husband of 54 years, Hank Eiden, and her daughter, Carol Eiden (53).

She is survived by her daughter, Jeanie of Spokane, WA, her granddaughter,

Haily, of Newport, WA, great grandson, Wayne, of Newport, WA, and

granddaughter, Kim of Salem, OR. She is also survived by her last surviving

sibling, Nora Misner, in Noble, OK, as well as several nieces and nephews

throughout Oklahoma and Texas.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 11AM at Newport Cemetery.
