Linda Marie (Short) Sams was born January 4, 1950, in Spokane Washington, and passed away at home October 3, 2023.   Linda graduated from North Central School, and worked for many years at Shopko, driving daily from her home near Newport to work at the South Hill of Spokane. She was the proud Mom of Susan Philpott , Tiffany Bellinger and Tammy Philpot and proud stepmom to Stan Sams, Jr., and Crystal Lee Sams Anderson. She had two brothers That she loved very much. She married the love of her life, Stan (Stanley) Sams, July 24, 1999, and together they enjoyed their home in a rural area near Newport.  It was a special pleasure for them to watch the variety of wildlife pass through their backyard.Linda was often described as "such a sweet lady", and epitomized the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32, "And be kind and compassionate to one another."  She dearly loved her mother and father, Olive and Roy Short, and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Herbert and Lilly Sams, all of whom preceded her in death. Her father-in-law once commented that Linda made the best pies he had ever eaten. She will be deeply missed by those she leaves behind, Stan, her daughters, stepchildren, many grandchildren, and extended family and Friends.
