Lillian P. Stoll

Age 84 of Newport

Lillian Pauline Stoll (known to many people as Pauline) left this life on her own time, at the age of 84, when she decided she was ready. She passed Wednesday morning, November 27th, 2024, at Newport Hospital, surrounded by her husband and daughters. Pauline was born in Forsyth, Montana, to Lillian Agate Buckalew and Paul Leo Buckalew in January 1940. She was the oldest of 10 children, with 5 younger sisters and 4 younger brothers.

Pauline was born and raised in Forsyth, Montana.  Being the oldest she helped raise her 9 siblings and met her husband Raymond Harvey Stoll while she was in high school. Pauline always talked about any time Ray took her on a date, they would always take a few siblings with them. Her youngest brother is named after her husband Ray. Pauline, her folks, and Ray (at the time her boyfriend) moved to western Washington in 1956. Pauline and Ray were married in August 1957.  10-months later they would welcome their first child Frosty (Forrest). In 1968 Ray started working construction building Circle K and Dunken Donut buildings and they traveled cross country in a pickup camper and a 40' trailer house they pulled behind a 1955 Chevy and a 1967 International.  So, during 1968 -1972 they rented the house in Kent and traveled to Montana, Colorado, and Texas for work, then moved back to Kent, Washington. They lived in the same home in Kent from 1964-1996. For most of her adult life, they lived in western Washington.  In 1996 they moved over the mountains to Newport, Washington to help take care of Ray's father Harvey Stoll and build their dream home.

In Kent, Pauline raised her 3 children and helped raise 2 of her grandchildren during the first part of their lives. A year after they moved to Newport, Pauline and Ray's oldest daughter Crystal and her family came to live in a home on their property. From then on Pauline helped raise not only 2 of her grandchildren but 3 of her great-grandchildren as well. Growing up in a large family, family was very important to Pauline. She was the happiest when she had a full house. Every holiday, friends and family would be invited over for a huge dinner. Ray would cook the "meats" (as she always had to have several just in case someone didn't like one of them) and Pauline was in the kitchen getting the sides together.

Pauline was always laughing. Even when she was unhappy with you it would turn to laughter. She never missed a kid's soccer game or band concert. She was also known for her stubbornness. When she got it in her mind to do something you could not budge her on it. She was a sweet Lady whose house was always open for those who needed it. She loved to sew and like her mother, she loved crossword puzzles. She also loved to travel. Once her kids had moved out, every year Pauline, and Ray would take at least 2 grandkids on a summer trip. Those trips always had a stop in Forsyth, Montana to see her mom and siblings. No matter where she went, she always made a stop in Forsyth.

Pauline is survived by her husband Raymond, 2 of her children Crystal Brammer and Twyla Del Pozzi, 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-great-granddaughter.  She is also survived by all 9 of her siblings: Joseph Buckalew, Vera Dobler, Linda Kopitzke, Shirley Harrsch, Carol Leary, Vivian Cogdill, Stanley Buckalew, David Buckalew, and Raymond Buckalew;

Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, Lillian Agate Buckalew and Paul Leo Buckalew; and her son Forrest (Frosty) Glen Stoll.

It will be held on July 19, 2025 at 10:00am to 1:00pm.  There will be a potluck brunch.
