Lena Kay Wagner was born April 6, 1964 in Newberry Michigan.  She was the second of four girls born to Fred and Zelda Elsner. On September 28, 2022 she was called home to the Lord.

Lena is survived by her loving husband Daryl Wagner, son Chief Quarter Master Clinton (Mai) Wagner, son Jared (Travis Woodman) Wagner, daughter Callie (Kevin) Naasz, 2 grandchildren Aiden and Louie Wagner, parents Fred and Zelda Elsner, sisters Tammy (Jerald Coffman) Newman, Debbie (John) Newman, Amanda Lehnert,  sisters-in-law Donna (Willie) Newman, Joan (Bill) Utecht, Lynn (Bear) Holter, Darlene (Chris) Smith-Tuttle, Jenny Wagner, Mollie Wagner and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Lena was a happy, adventurous, full-of-life child.  She was a ruthless game player, even if she didn't win, she just wanted to play the game.  She had a caring soul who was always willing to help others.  She loved spending time with her Grandma Callie learning the lessons of life.  In 1976 the family moved from Michigan to Ione, WA.  Lena attended Selkirk High School where her love story with Daryl began.  When the family moved to Newport, WA Daryl continued to court Lena asking her to marry him and make the journey through life together.   They sealed the deal and began the 39-year journey together in July of 1983.

The real fun began in 1986 when their first bundle of joy Clinton Allen was born.  Jared Wayne made his appearance (always an appearance) in 1989.  The baby girl and completion of the family Callie Melinda made her debut in 1991.

In their 39 years together Daryl and Lena built 2 homes from the ground up, spent countless weekends at little guy wrestling with all 3 kids, traveled all over the country for Jared's singing career, and took 3 trips to Japan to love on their grandsons, took fabulous vacations to Mexico, Georgia and other places.  Her family was her biggest joy.

Lena was a prolific gardener, loved animals and enjoyed making her home into her oasis to share with family and friends, whether it was family reunions in July or poker games with friends.  She was so good at springing into action and handling business like a boss.  She just knew how to do stuff, even if meant over-engineering it, because Lena never did anything halfway.   Lena had a way of making everyone in her life feel special and loved.  She had a zest for life that was infectious.  Her superpower was her ability to find the one person on the outside and pulling them into the party.  Lena was a just a 'femme dure à cuire' and she will be greatly missed by all that loved her.

A celebration of life will be held at Bear Paw Campground Saturday October 8 ^th at 11am.
