LAURA (BADE) SCHLANGEN
Went to be with her lord on 8/18/24. Born 4/18/30 to Carl & Lola Bade. Grew up
in rural Milton-Freewater, OR. After graduating from high school, came to
Spokane, WA in 1948 to attend Kinman B.U. Employed by General Adjustment
Bureau, Glens Falls Ins. Co. and Lacy & Conyard Adjusters prior to working as a
Secretary for Mead School District from 1965-1992, during which time she was
Secretary to the Superintendent and for the Gifted student program.

Married Dan Schlangen in 1953, divorced in 1976 and remained good friends.
Survived by son Dan Schlangen (Rene) of Whidbey Island, WA; daughter Lauri
Barrett (Kenny) of Priest River, ID; 5 grandchildren; Dan Schlangen (Mollye) of
Gloucester, VA; David Schlangen of Seattle, WA; Brittany (Josh) Ackerman and
Ryen Edwards of Priest River, ID; Corbin Adkins of Mead, WA; and great
grandchildren: Chet & Lela Schlangen; Ava & Ella Ackerman; and Everly Edwards.
Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Received several awards for volunteering; Corbin Senior Activity Center;
CenterPointe and PED. She was a Tour Leader for Corbin Center since 1993,
traveling Europe and the US often. She was on the board of Christian Womens'
club from 1972-1994. Member of Fourth Memorial Church since 1988 and very
involved with area wide Christian Singles. In lieu of flowers, donations to Corbin
Senior Center or Fourth Memorial Church would be appreciated. Services will be
announced at a later date.
