Larry Dean Staples, Newport Wa

Larry Dean Staples, passed away May 28th 2020 at Sacred Heart Hospital at the age of 65. Larry was born February 7 1955,to Wilbur and Jeane Staples. Larry was born in Pend Oreille County and was raised in Scotia Valley. After graduating Newport High School in 1973, he worked at Merritt Lumber. Then he decided to become a full-time musician, he played in a number of local bands but the main one known was the Backwoods Band.

As a life-long resident of Pend Oreille County, he was a member of both the Rodeo Association and the Eagles. Larry was also known by many family members as Uncle Bubby. Larry had a good sense of humor that will be missed by many.  Larry was preceded in death by his father Wilbur, mother Jeane and two brothers Wayne and Ted and a granddaughter Charlotte. He is survived by Son Cory Staples, Daughter Jenny Staples, Daughter-in-law Sara Staples and Son-in-law Nathan Robinson. He is also survived by grandchildren, Madison, Helena, Katherine, Weston, Chaz, Riley and Jayden as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial will be held at a later date.
