Larry Price Maupin born in Ione, Washington

(March 13,1960 -October 17,2021)

Larry Price Maupin passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, October 17, 2021, at his home in Ione, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emery and Shirla Maupin and niece Amanda Maupin.

He graduated from Selkirk High School in 1978, did two, 2-year courses at Spokane Community College. First was between the years of 1978-1980: Automotive Mechanics and the second was 1995-1997: Automotive Technician/Machinist, where he was voted Student of the Year by his peers. He was employed at the United States Forest Service on the fire crew and cleared trails, Milwaukee Railroad on the animal crew, Vaagen Bros Lumber on the green chain and lift truck driver, the Pend Oreille Railroad, The Country Hardware Store for a short period of time and Teck American mine as a mechanic.

He worked at his home for the past couple years, enjoying the upkeep of his 20-acre property and maintaining his log house, which he built from the ground up for his wife and four children.  He was a very meticulous worker in everything he did. Believed in being ready for work with his boots tied and ready for a full productive day. His motto was "a clean shop was a productive shop" and if you were ever in his shop, you would know he meant it. He was looking forward to retirement in March of 2022. He took great care of the home and was a great support to his wife and family, always busy building and improving the living situation.  He thought about others constantly and was always looking out for them.  If you were looking for a job, he was perusing the papers and help boards for you.  If you were looking for a vehicle, he was checking the exchange for a good buy.

He was known by many and always had a smile and a beer to share. He always brightened your day with his jokes, humor, and stories. He had a great memory and knew the history of the area well and remembered how everyone was connected. He was the handiest of handymen and a fabricator of many unique things that he used on his property for various tasks. His time on this earth was too short, but he knew where he was destined, and his salvation was secure.  He read and studied his Daily Bread every morning and often left a cartoon or a sweet note for his wife to start her day with a smile on her face. He had too many talents and interests to mention; those who knew him, knew this. He was loved by many and will be thoroughly missed, but we know that when you are absent from the body, you are instantly present with the Lord.  Our hope is that we will see him soon in his completeness and this is what will keep us going until then.  We ask that you remember his kindness and think about your own salvation. We don't want anyone left behind and want all to be reunited again.

Larry was survived by his "mean redhead" (love of his life) Jennifer (Timblin) Maupin of 33 years (married December 30, 1987), and four beautiful children Maggie Jo (and Forrest) Pettis, Lawrence (and Cheyenne) Maupin, Mary Maupin, and Emily (and William) Cook, siblings Gary (and Lujean) Maupin, Penny Maupin (and Caroline) and John (and Diane) Maupin, 9 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews on both sides. Also, his brothers and sisters-in-law, Steven Timblin, Bridgit Timblin, Damon (and Eve) Timblin, Mark (and Marilyn) Timblin and Rex (and Margee) Timblin.

His services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at the Assembly of God in Metaline Falls, Washington and then a dinner at the American Legion Auxiliary following. Please bring memories and a lot of stories to tell.
