Karen Joy David born March.9,1940 went home to be with the lord and her late loved ones March. 17, 2026 at the fulfilled age of 86. Karen was easily the kindest most selfless person whom all her loved ones would argue the term " give you the shirt of her back" was modeled after. To know her ,was to love her. She certainly lived up to her middle name, which was Joy. Being around her brought joy to your heart, even when she was sick , she was making jokes. Always more concerned about others than she had been concerned about herself . Karen was very family and friend oriented.  She was the neighborhood mother and grandmother, the kind always making treats and once she could no longer bake treats, she made sure to have her cookie jar filled. Always making sure coffee was made for company .

She will be greatly missed, but live on in each of us as the thread that sews together the patches of those special people in our life that we lost, like quilt-work. The very best part of us and who we strive to be . She leaves behind her 3 children Roberta David, Brian David and Gary David, 8 grandchildren Alicia Vogtman ( Her husband Dylan Vogtman ) Justin Taylor , Jacob David , Lillian Taylor , Tara David ,Joshua David , Krystle Mendoza and Stephanie Smith , and many grandchildren who loved her deeply my and was her pride and joy . She was proceeded in death by her Grandson Jason Vines, her loving husband Harry David, her loving sister's Corrine Funden, Phylis Scott ( Ray Scott)and brother Ray/Maynard Funden along with parents Myrtle Funden and Robert Funden .

Funeral will be held April.10th at 11 am at Sherman Knapp funeral home in Newport,wa. And gathering to follow at 1 pm to 3 pm at the hospitality house , potluck style .
