Obituary

Junior "Dean" Pierce
September 10, 1933- May 17th 2022
Junior Dean Pierce, 88, was born to Bluit and Flora Pierce on September 10th, 1933, in Reeds Spring, Missouri.  His family moved to Whittier California, in 1938 when he was 5 years old, where he lived until he moved his family to Newport, Washington in 1980.

Dean married PeggyAnn Back on January 26th, 1964.  They celebrated 48 years of marriage before she passed on to be with the Lord.

Dean was honored to serve in the United States Navy on the USS Boxer aircraft carrier during the Korean war.

Dad was a devout Christian.  He loved Sunday school and sharing the gospel with everyone he met. He was an amazing spiritual leader to his wife and children. He loved hunting, reloading, camping, fishing and racing.  We have so many fond memories of time spent throughout our lives sharing these activities with him and mom, especially the camping trips we took every year to destinations near and far.

Dad was a man that was loved by all that met him.  His kindness and compassion to all was unmatched.  One story that exemplifies his kindness is a time when two hunters found themselves needing to pass through dad and moms' property to get back to their vehicle.  Dad stepped outside asking them, "how ya doing" and invited them in for coffee (which dad always had brewing). They remained friends until his recent passing.

Dean worked for Fender Musical Instrument crafting guitars July 1965-June 1980. He worked as a concrete finisher and brick layer. Deans last job was running the county landfill in Newport, Washington.

Dean was proceeded in death by his wife PeggyAnn (Back) Pierce, his parents Bluit and Flora Pierce, his sisters Ida Peterson and Nellie Richardson, brothers Jim Pierce and Lloyd Pierce, his Mother in law Marilla Back and his Father in law Walter Back and his Son-in-law Mickey Chesser

Dean is survived by his five children Deana Chesser, June Duffy and her husband Chuck, Lyn Aleka, Cherise Ward and her husband Curtis, Dean Pierce and his wife Tana, his 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Dad will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
