June Luella Rankin

It is with great sadness that the family of June Rankin announces her peaceful passing on April 12, 2019 at Aspen Quality Care in Spokane, WA.  She was 90 years of age.  She was born in Maquoketa, Iowa on June 19, 1928.  June's biggest achievement was paving the way in society for strong women when she had the opportunity to open one of the first women-owned businesses in Spokane selling sewing machines.  She loved fishing, traveling in her motor home, spending time with her grandchildren and family dinners at her home in Colbert, WA

She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Charity Russell, husband Jack, brother Lyle, sisters Laura, Esther and Clara, sons Denny and Pat, daughter Kathy.

She is survived by brother Leslies, sons Bob (Debbie), Allen (Patty), Richard (Cindy), Terry (Kathy), Mike and Dan, multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Special thanks to the caregivers at Aspen Quality Care and Kindred Hospice for their love and support of June and family. Also, thanks to Terry Glidden, Christeen Allen and Dave and Nickole North for their support and help.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, April 20 ^th at 11 a.m. at Newport Cemetery which will be followed by a Luncheon and Celebration of Life hosted by Dave and Nickole North at 961 Cusick Meadow Road, Cusick, WA 99119.
