June LouEllen Pettit (86) of Newport, WA formerly of Oldtown and Priest River, Id passed away July 23, 2021 at River Mountain Village Advanced Care in Newport.

June was born October 11, 1934 in Newport, Washington to James and Ellen Linton of Priest River.  She was the second of ten children (8 boys and 2 girls).

June attended grade school and high school in Priest River.

On June 12 ^, 1953 she married the love of her life Don Pettit and their love affair lasted for over 63 years until Donald passed on July 22, 2016.

In 1959 Donald and June moved their family to Priest Lake and lived there until 1999 when they moved back to Priest River.

Gramma June was the proud mother of four sons, eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.  She was known as Gramma June to many other children that knew her.

June was a very ambitious little gal.  She stayed home and took care of her four boys.  She was the bookkeeper for her and Donald's logging company.  She had picked hundreds of gallons of huckleberries and owned and operated a commercial huckleberry products business and shipped products all over the country and she owned and operated a hobby and craft store in Priest Lake.  June was a very artistically talented crafty lady.  She painted dozens of beautiful paintings, she made incredible stained glass masterpieces one of which is the storefront of a jewelry store in San Francisco, CA.  She also made dozens of beautiful and intricate quilts, each were made as a gift for some donation or special occasion.

June shot her first moose when she was 77 years old with the help of her son Donny.

Gramma June saw only the beauty in everyone and everything.  She would drag home things that most people discard and somehow turn it into something beautiful. She always said: "Everything is beautiful in its own way."

June was preceded in death by her husband Donald, son Roger and brothers Larry, Ray, Dennis, Curt and Jimmie.

The sadness of letting go of Gramma June is softened by Knowing how much she loved our Lord and Savior.  She was a perfect, wonderful mother and grandmother and definitely has a special place in Heaven.

A Viewing will be held On Wednesday, July 28 ^th from 12-5PM at the Sherman-Campbell Funeral Home in Newport, WA with a Graveside Service on Thursday, July 29 ^th at 10AM at the Evergreen Cemetery in Priest River, Idaho.
