Jon F. Cole, 63, of Oldtown, Idaho, passed away on August 27, 2026.

Jon was born on April 29, 1963, to Bill and Emma Cole. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Cole, and his son, Billy Cole.

Jon is survived by the love of his life, his wife Sondi Cole; his mother Emma Cole; his sister Angie Cole; his sons Phillip Cole, Shawn Baldwin, and Dallas Ausmus; three daughters‑in‑law; and numerous grandchildren who adored their Bapa. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Jon worked for Excess Disposal for 37 years. He graduated from Newport High School and went straight to work for Excess. Jon’s wife always joked that he was married to his job and that she was his mistress. Jon loved his job and all the customers he had on his routes.

Jon loved hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time outdoors. In 2017, he suffered a severe seizure that took him away from his job and many of the activities he cherished, but it never dimmed the love he had for his family or the strength of his spirit.

Jon was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
