John Edward Pitts passed away at his home December 28th, 2021 after a brave fight with cancer. He was born January 11, 1958. Growing up in Oldtown, he graduated from Priest River High School in 1976. He went on to welding classes at NIC, worked in the family well drilling business, and later was a millwright at various locations. John loved his family, traveling with the family, bowling, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, motorcycling and wood working.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Pat Shawgo; sisters Pam and Robin; brother, Steven; and son, Tyler. He is survived by the love of his life Laurie; Dad, Carl and Maxine Pitts; brother, Joe Ockert; daughters, Amanda, Kayte, and Samantha; "step-children", Zac, Tyler, and Ashley; grand kids, Diego, Jordan, Michael, Ryder, Marley, Meadow, Hannah, Molly, and Gracie; great-granddaughter, Sophia; nephews, Craig Nalley and Dakota Ockert; a niece, Kennedy Pitts; and many other family members and friends.
He will be greatly missed by many. A memorial will be set at a later date.
