83 YEARS OLD

Jerry W. Camp Jr. passed away peacefully with loved ones by his side on April 26 ^th the night of the "Super Pink Moon.  He was at home with his wife Vicki of 47 years as well as daughters and a granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his father Jerry W. Camp, Sr., Mother Georgia (Jo) Camp, and Brother Phil Camp.  Jerry was born January 19 ^th , 1938 in Spokane, WA where he lived out his life.  He graduated from Lewis & Clark High School in 1955 and attended Washington State University.  His parents eloped while attending Washington State College (now Washington State University) and that started a long legacy and tradition of Camp family members attending and supporting WSU, Go Cougs!

Jerry's true passions in life were spending time with family, Camp Chevrolet, and playing golf.  He grew up golfing and caddying at The Spokane Country Club.  When he caddied, he would make .25 cents for every golf bag he carried.  Many times, he carried four golf bags for eighteen holes and made $1.00, "Those were good days", Jerry said.  He loved caddying for Bing Crosby's group.  Jerry said Mr. Crosby was the biggest tipper.  Jerry was an exceptional golfer.  At the age of 16, he qualified for the USGA Junior National Championship and competed in the 16–18-year-old group and took a train to the tournament that was held in Lafayette, Illinois. This was an accomplishment he was very proud of.

Jerry was truly one of a kind and the life of every party. He had a great sense of humor and was well known for his ability to dance with a drink balanced on top of his head (he never spilled one in 47 years). Jerry and his wife Vicki hosted many years of family Easter egg hunts in their yard, and 4 ^th of July celebrations with amazing fireworks displayed at their cabin at Diamond Lake.  All of the children, and of course later the grandkids and great grandkids, looked forward to these times together carrying many special memories with them today.

Throughout his life, Jerry and Vicki were fortunate enough to travel to many beautiful places, but his heart was always in Maui, Hawaii.  He and Vicki spent their winters on Maui for thirty years.

Jerry loved and was very proud of the family business at Camp Chevrolet, where he dedicated his time and talent until he retired.

When Jerry became your friend, he was your friend for life.  He cherished his friends and family and was always there for those he loved. He left all of us with many wonderful, funny, and sometimes embarrassing memories.  He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife Vicki Camp, daughters: Patti Camp (Doug), Stacey Stevens (Derek), Molly Camp, Michaela Peterson, Callie Bendickson (Ryan), and Cami Camp.  Sister Julie McKay and brother Chris Camp (Janet).  11 grandchildren:  Tawnyelle (Calvin), Chad (Leila), Reilly, Ashton, Tori, Tayler, Tillman, Jeremiah, Emily, Andrew, and Brady.  2 great grandchildren (and another on the way), and 2 great great grandchildren.

Per Jerry's wishes there will be a private family graveside service.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Spokane.
