Jerri Lee
Cole
Feb 7, 1953 — Feb 15, 2023
Newport
Jerri Lee Cole, 69, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ just before noon on February 15, 2023. She passed away from COPD in Newport, WA at her daughter's home. She was surrounded by family (both on the phone and in person); her hands were held as she was encouraged, prayed over, and made comfortable.
Jerri was born prematurely in Anchorage, Alaska on December 7, 1953, to her parents Willis Grinols and Dorothy Grinols (Morrison). Jerri's twin did not survive, but after a lengthy hospital stay, Jerri joined her three older siblings at home. Stubborn from the start, she survived that introduction to a tumultuous life and was a tough lady from there on out. She taught her children and grandchildren to be strong and independent. Two days before she died, she was chopping wood and starting a fire.
She married Bruce Cole in 1970, and they had the 5 H's - their daughters Heather, Heidi, Hayley, Hilda, and Hillary, who will all miss her greatly. She is also remembered by her two sisters Jan and Jayne, her ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jerri, or Jer Bear as her friends called her, was well known all over the Key Peninsula and Renton highlands. She made friends everywhere she went. Her legacy is one full of love.
For a while she ran the Harvester and also owned the Homeport; She worked as a realtor in Gig Harbor and Renton and went to appraisal school. Recently, she also helped her daughter start up a new restaurant in Eastern Washington.
After she retired, she traveled with her daughters and grandkids. She made trips to Universal Studios, Disney, California, London, Paris etc. She loved traveling, family, Jesus, angels, movies, flowers, birds and gardening. She embraced her Scottish heritage and was proud to be a Morrison like her Grama Edna.
"Grama" was never spelled with an "nd". "Warshington" State had an "R". Expiration dates were suggestions. If she set her mind to something, there was no stopping her. She was set in her ways and confident in who she was. Jerri Lee Cole, a beautiful child of God.
There will be a service February 25th, 2023, at 2 PM at Haven of Rest, 8503 State Route 16 NW, Gig Harbor, WA 98332. Flowers can be sent to the funeral home or donations can be made to Gig Harbor Peninsula Fish at
