Jeremy Todd
Kurp
Sep 26, 1979 — Feb 10, 2026
Newport
Jeremy Todd Kurp, age 46, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at home in Newport, Washington. Jeremy was born September 26, 1979, in California, to Leonard and Bethel Kurp.
Jeremy grew up in Northeast Ohio. On August 9, 1998, in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at the Lodi, Ohio, town park gazebo, he married his Black River High School sweetheart, Jaime Dull. They have two beautiful children, Justin Matthew and Asher Elizabeth, along with the family dog, Caesar, who made their family complete.
Jeremy honorably served in the United States Army from 1999 through 2002. After basic training, he was deployed to Korea before coming back stateside to be with his family. Utilizing his charismatic personality, he successfully worked for many years in the automotive sales, service sector and more recently, in retail management. Always quick with one-liners and the ability, inherited from his dad, to take any story and turn it into a hilarious tale that would capture your attention and make you laugh, even if the story had a serious message.
In 2015, the family moved to Washington state. The family spent most of their time together challenging each other with Mario Kart & any other game they could find. Competition flowed thicker than blood during those times, and he always claimed to be the king. His curiosity burned just as bright as the TV always lit, playing something about nature or aliens or astronomy. Jeremy's deepest fascination was always with the night sky; his phone was filled with photos of stars and the moon. Many late nights, you could find him with a cigarette and a crooked neck staring up at the stars.
…When I sitting heard the astronomer where he lectured with
much applause in the lecture-room,
How soon unaccountable I became tired and sick,
Till rising and gliding out I wander'd off by myself,
In the mystical moist night-air, and from time to time,
Look'd up in perfect silence at the stars. ~ Walt Whitman
Like Walt Whitman, Jeremy explored the concept that you can understand nature better just by sitting and observing rather than a variety of math equations and diagrams. Now, Jeremy, when we look up in perfect silence at the stars, we will think of you!! His form of perfect silence, of course being an amalgamation of genres. His love of music ensuring everyone stayed on their toes from Johnny Horton to ICP to Benson Boon; there was no telling what came next. But rest assured, he loved whatever played next, whether the family did was debatable. Music being one of his simple pleasures, you could frequently find him belting out his songs in pure enjoyment.
Jeremy is survived by his wife, Jaime; son, Justin; daughter, Asher; mother, Bethel Kurp; brothers, Leonard Kurp, Jr., and Chad Kurp; sisters, Michelle Cortez and Deanna Kurp; nephew, David Robert Frame (Alyce); and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Preceding him in death; his father, Leonard Kurp, and his brothers, David Frame and Matthew Frame.
He will be missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.
REST IN PEACE AND LOVE
