Jeanette Lea (Pearce) Campbell (89 years old) went home to Heaven early Saturday morning, April 11, 2020.  She was born in Newport, Washington on July 18, 1930 to Glen and Ethel (Kimes) Pearce. She was the oldest of five children.  The family moved to Troy, Idaho where Jeanette graduated from High School in 1948.  She was married to William Hughes in 1949. They had five sons, divorced in 1966, then married Walter Campbell on March 30, 1967. They adopted two daughters.

Jeanette was considered as the "other mother and grandmother" to many friends of her children, grandchildren and neighbors. All the kids were "her kids" and she expected them to act accordingly with respect and kindness to everyone. That principle was taught by her during her 50+ years as a Sunday school teacher at several churches, including the Assembly of God in Newport and Priest River, then later at the New Testament Church pastored by Walter.

In her younger years she loved to crochet and play the piano until her arthritic condition made that too difficult. She loved solving puzzles of all kinds, but her favorites were jigsaw and crossword puzzles. You seldom saw her without her crossword books in her purse. They helped her pass the time while she was waiting for something or someone.

She was an amazing cook and could always find a way to "stretch" a meal to feed anyone who unexpectedly showed up around dinner time. Which seemed to happen most of the time!  She loved to bake pies. Her favorite pie was lemon meringue. She also enjoyed baking cinnamon rolls, many kinds of breads, and double and triple batches of cookies so Walt would have plenty for his lunches at work.

She also was an exceptional canner of all the garden produce and fruits that Walt grew.  Jeanette always kept the cellar storeroom full and well stocked. She had an amazing green thumb when it came to growing houseplants, her African violets were the envy of many people.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Walter Campbell (92 years old) of Chattaroy, Washington. Also, survived by her sister Donna Derrick, sons Jim (Susan) Hughes, Lanny (Susan) Hughes, Randy Hughes, David Hughes and daughters Debbie (Delbert) Haynes, Diane (Frank) Lukas, also 19 Grandchildren and 21 Great grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, son Barry Hughes, siblings Carol Pearce, Bernie Bostrom, Glen Pearce Jr. and her great granddaughter Erin Thibodeau.
