Please come and share memories.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jason Robert Betz on Sunday, August 16th, 2026, at the age of 53. Jason was born on November 9th, 1972 in Sunnyside, Washington, and spent much of his life in Priest Lake, Idaho, and Newport, Washington.
He graduated from Kentwood high school and later attended the University of Idaho to pursue his passion of Forestry, which led him to work as the Assistant Fire Warden at Idaho Department of Lands, and most recently a Procurement Forester at Bell Timber.
Jason was an avid Husky Football fan (Go Dawgs!), and always rooted for the Seahawks and Mariners as well. He enjoyed cooking or trying new restaurants with his child Kellyn, spending time in nature, and taking long drives to catch pictures of wildlife and beautiful sunsets.
Jason was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be missed by many. He is survived by his children, Kellyn, Rhandi and her husband, Danny; his parents, Pam, Mark, and Candy; his siblings, Angie, Corey, Erik, and Molly; and his grandchildren, Dallas and Maeve. He is also survived by his niece and nephews, Brandon, Locker, Caden, and Blakely, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jason will be remembered for his kind, calming, and genuine personality, as well as the love and warmth he brought to the lives of those around him.
A celebration of life will be held on August 28, 2026, from 3–6 p.m. at Kelly’s Bar and Grill in Newport. Family and friends are invited to gather, reminisce, and share a story or two in Jason’s memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made to a college fund established for his child, Kellyn, and grandchildren, Dallas and Maeve, via:
