It is with deep sadness that the family of Jan E. Quinn announces her passing on August 20, 2026 after a short illness. Jan was born on January 2, 1965, in Pullman, Washington (she was the first baby born in that hospital after the New Year). Her parents moved to Spokane, Washington shortly thereafter where she lived for most of her life. She had just recently moved to Priest River, Idaho. Jan worked in the hospitality field for most of her career. She received her culinary arts degree from Spokane Community College and a Masters Degree from the Presidential Institute at Gonzaga University. Jan lived a life filled with creativity, love of nature and animals, and kindness to others. She never met a stranger and gave of herself freely to those in need.
She was a poet, storyteller, and family historian. She had a magic way with animals that was wonderful. They loved her and she loved them unconditionally. She will be most lovingly remembered by her brothers Jack R. Quinn Jr. of Priest River, Idaho and Richard A. Quinn of Tarboro, North Carolina, and her sister Ann L. Quinn of Silverdale, Washington. In addition, she is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A celebration of Jan’s Life will be held at the Sherman Campbell Funeral Home in Priest River Idaho on September 18, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. A small gathering will follow at a local business. Our family would like to thank the Schniedmiller Hospice House of North Idaho for their incredible care and love of Jan and our family and all the support from friends and family during this difficult time.
