Obituary

Jim was born July 17, 1938, in Newport, Washington to Joseph and Mamie Pagnotta. He passed peacefully at home at the age of 82 surrounded by family.

He was raised with his brother Frank Pagnotta and grew up in Priest River, Idaho.  He married Sherry Groshe in 1963, and he lived the majority of his life in Priest River, Idaho, finally settling near their daughter and son-in-law, Gina and Tim Thompson in Oldtown, Idaho.

Jim owned and operated a successful trucking business for many years, established restaurants in Priest River, including Burger Express, and worked for several years in the movie industry in Los Angeles.

Those who knew Jim knew his lifelong passion for collecting cars. His love of a big throaty engine and eighteen wheels endured his entire life. He and his wife Sherry traveled extensively for years, most recently enjoying the sun and time together with their little Maltese, Max.

Jim was deeply dedicated to his family, held a lifelong quiet faith in God, and opened his home and heart to many people throughout the years.

He is survived by his wife Sherry, his daughter Gina Thompson and husband Tim, grandchildren Abriana, Bradyn, Colton and Allee, great grandson Wayne, brother Frank Pagnotta and wife Vera, nephew Joel and niece Barbara, goddaughters Rhonda Curry and Renee Morey and eight other godchildren.

Honoring Jim's wishes, he was cremated, and a Catholic Mass was held on June 14 th at St. Anthony's Church in Newport, WA, followed by a traditional Italian lunch.
