James Henry Foster , age 75, died at his home in Pend Oreille County, Washington on February 14, 2026. He was born July 10th, 1950 in Price, Utah to Junius Wesley Foster and Marilyn Jorgensen. Jim married Darlene Lowery on December 18, 1971 in Oak Harbor Island, Washington.Jim attended Skagit Valley College before enrolling in the United States Air Force in 1972. His primary specialty was Training Device Support. Jim served as the Team Chief where he managed the operational flight trainer program where he set standards adopted across the entire Air Force. He was the go to technical expert representing Headquarters Tactical Air Command, built training programs from the ground up for simulator electronics technicians, teaching students across subjects including computer programming, radar systems, electronic warfare, flight control systems, and other technical specialties. He retired honorably from the Air Force on February 29, 1992, having risen to the rank of Master Sergeant, receiving many awards during his service. Following retirement, he worked at the Sailor Creek Bombing Range, a training facility for the United States Air Force and partnering nations.   Jim loved learning, building and restoring, electronics and technology as well as the outdoors and gardening. He had a big heart and always went out of his way to help a friend or family, taking the time to help make a situation easier for those he knew. Jim is survived by his wife, Darlene, their son, Eric, his wife, Laura, and his granddaughter Aleesia. His five brothers and one sister: Larry Foster and Rhonda, John Foster, Evelyn Foster, Junius Wesley "Berry" Foster Jr. and Marci, Jay Foster and Joy, and Robert Foster and Kathy.  Graveside services for Jim Foster will be held at Newport Cemetery in Newport, Washington on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 2:00PM. Military honors will be provided by Fairchild AFB Honor Guard. Friends and family are encouraged to share memories and condolences.
