Obituary

Henry Lee Jones was born on January 29, 1935 to Allie and Henry Jones in Kendrick Idaho.  School years were spent in and around Kendrick. Once he graduated high school he worked various jobs, smoke chaser for PLTPA, USFS smoke jumper out of Missoula, he also worked in the Bunker Hill mine for a while. While working with the PLTPA, he met the love of his life, Charlotte Ann Roberts. They married in Coolin, ID and honeymooned in a smoke chaser cabin east of Upper Priest Lake. He joined the Air Force soon after and was a survival instructor at Stead AFB.  After he separated from the AF he and Charlotte went to college in Cheney, WA. Once graduated he took the job that became his career. He was a National Park Service ranger, administrative assistant, and park superintendent until retirement, moving back to Priest Lake in 1984.  Back at the lake he enjoyed clearing trails, hiking and just roaming around in the woods. He served in many volunteer positions at the lake, including lookout for IDL, EMT with Priest Lake Ambulance, and firefighter, commissioner and chief of Coolin Fire, in addition to being a member of Priest Lake Search and Rescue.

He is survived by his sons, Michael (Shana) and David (Karin) and their families, his beloved niece Barb, in addition to numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
