Guadalupe M. Sanchez
June 03,1934 – February 10, 2023
Guadalupe "Lupe" Sanchez- dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother- passed away peacefully at River Mountain Village Advanced Care on February 10, 2023 at the age of 88, after a brave prolonged battle with Parkinson's and Dementia.
Guadalupe was born to Erineo and Maria de Jesus Vasquez in Guadalajara, Mexico and immigrated and settled in the United States at a young age. Guadalupe traveled throughout the continental United States with her family, assisting with the care of her younger siblings and working long hours in the fields. Whether it was picking cotton in Florida, potatoes, apples, cherries in Washington, Guadalupe learned her craft well. She would later use this knowledge to have her own private orchard and nursery growing the sweetest apples and prettiest most fragrant roses. She married Juan Sanchez in 1961 in Quincy, Washington, and they spent 49 years together and had four children. In 1996, she proudly became a US citizen.
Guadalupe was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother who loved to spend time with her family. Her happiest moments were when she cooked her delicious Mexican dishes and had all her children enjoy them. She enjoyed having all of her children and her grandbabies over for all holidays. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden and fruit trees. Sitting on her garden swing eating her fresh fruit while she admired her flowers. Her favorite pastime was to scratch lottery tickets while watching her Spanish Telenovelas and going to casinos to try her luck at slot machines.
Guadalupe is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers: Acencion, Pedro, Jose, and Mike, and sister Sylvia. She is survived by her son, Juan Sanchez and his wife Krystal, grandson John Michael Sanchez and great grandsons: Noah Sanchez and Taj Sanchez; granddaughter Carmen Nicole Sanchez and great grandchildren: Brody Mason Goodwin, Ava Marie Goodwin, and Mikayla Leann Goodwin. Her daughter Susie Arredondo and husband Jessie, granddaughter Julia Marie Arredondo. Her daughter Marisol Huntwork and husband Billy Joe, grandson Joseph Craig Huntwork and wife Nancy, great granddaughters: Isabel Marie Huntwork and Catalina Rose Huntwork; granddaughter Leanne Marie Huntwork. Her son Raul Sanchez and wife Linda, grandson Gino Sanchez. Sisters: Maria, Consuelo, Diana, Esmeralda and brothers: Raul, Alfredo, Rudolfo, Erineo and Jessie as well as beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family is very grateful to the River Mountain staff for caring for Guadalupe in such a compassionate and loving manner. Family and friends are welcome to attend her memorial service on February 21 st , 2023 at 10am.
