Gary Hofer departed the Earthly plane just 7 days after the new year of 2024 at the age of 75. Gary Had A few careers in his life. Many will remember him as a friendly cashier at Safeway in Newport where he retired from, or from his days at Red Lion and Pigout in the Park, and Dewey, Cheat'em and How's. Or the good ol days playing bass in the band Celebration in the 70's.

Gary was born and raised in Spokane, Washington along with his sister Vicki. Gary graduated from Shadle Park High School then followed with culinary school. Gary spent many of his years designing and building a mountain home that would always be a part of his heart. He enjoyed his retirement with his cats, his extensive library of mystery and sci-fi and the peace he had created in his mountain retreat. He loved to have his family over for a BBQ. He would do the grilling while the kids played in the creek or climbed Papa's mountain to see the whole valley.

Gary's memory will be carried on by his two wonderful children: Joshua and Mindy, his 4 grandchildren: Nikalaus, Macy, Azaya, Vinah, great grandchild Liam, and his sister Vicki.

There will be a celebration of life held in the spring for all that would like to attend.
