Gary Richard Domke, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away in his home surrounded by family on October 3, 2025 at the age of 80. He was married to his wife of 55 years, Jacqueline Domke. Together, they raised a family founded on faith in Jesus Christ and self-sacrificial love for one another and their community.

Gary was the father of Brian Domke and grandfather of Jonah Domke. Gary was a constant encouraging presence in the lives of both his son and grandson. He was also the father-in-law of Denise Domke, who he considered to be like a cherished daughter.

Second only to his faith, family time was deeply valued by Gary. He was constantly looking forward to the next project that would have the family engaged in working together for hours at a time. Gary was known for saying that he believed in investing both quality and quantity time with his family, especially his grandson.

Gary was born on June 8th, 1945, in Shawano, WI to Carl C. Domke and Helen M. Rosenberg, both who have preceded him in death. He grew up in a family with three siblings. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dan, and is survived by his sisters Kris and Anne.

He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army and completed a tour in Vietnam. He was always honored when he had an opportunity to assist a fellow veteran. Much of Gary's adult life was spent serving his community in a variety of forms, including many years as a church elder.

Gary found great joy and fulfillment in working on the family's small farm/homestead, where three generations of his family lived together. He headed up many of the daily farm chores up until the age of 77, hauling buckets of water, shouldering bags of grain, and moving bales of hay. He cared for the farm animals with a smile on his face and a song on his lips (which was usually a silly song that he had made up).

Among Gary's many hobbies he enjoyed hunting, competitive handgun shooting, archery, fishing, camping, hiking, photography, amateur radio, motorcycle riding, and repairing just about anything. Of course, he always enjoyed any hobby that much more when it was done alongside one of his family members or friends.

Gary will be remembered for his faith as a follower of Jesus Christ, a dedicated family man, a caring friend, and member of the community who was always willing to help someone in need. Gary was a regular journal writer, where he would end each daily entry with the words "Thank you, Father." This note at the end of each day's entry was in response to the scripture 1 Thessalonians 5:16, which along with other commands, tells us to give thanks in all circumstances. He took this command as an important view on life that he put into practice.

While Gary will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him, we are confident that he is now at peace and filled with joy in the presence of God. "Thank you, Father."
