Gary Rae Brooks was born on July 26, 1938, and was raised on the family ranch in Wyoming. He passed away in Newport, WA with his family at his bedside on May 31, 2023, at the age of 84. Gary never met a stranger and never turned down an adventure. He was an Air Force veteran, horseman, cowboy, rancher and entrepreneur, rodeo and radio announcer and auctioneer. Gary was also an active member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, including the Knights of Columbus. He was a good husband and father who dearly loved his children and grandchildren.He is preceded in death by his parents Edmond and Adelyn Brooks, as well as his brothers Donald Brooks and Ralph Brooks. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Mary Jane, sons Wayne Brooks (Melanie), JW Brooks (Jody) and daughters Shelley Luiz (Frank), Sarah Akerill (Rob), Sherri Maez (Jonathon), sister Sharon Hopper, 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, also at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Newport
