Gary Lee Bixler, born in 1947, departed this earth and met his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 15, 2026.

To know Gary was to love him. He was a man of deep faith who spoke with wisdom, love, and compassion, offering steady guidance and heartfelt encouragement to all who crossed his path. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, and he lived it boldly—through service, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family, church, and community.

Gary proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, carrying that same spirit of duty, honor, and integrity throughout his life. In more recent years, he faithfully served as Chaplain of Idaho Legion Post #155, ministering to veterans and their families with humility, strength, and sincere care. His words brought comfort, his prayers brought peace, and his presence brought reassurance.

Above all, Gary was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He leaves behind his loving wife, Teresa Bixler; his son, Rodney Bixler; and his cherished grandchildren, Fox, Colton, and Kitana. He is also lovingly remembered by his sister, Darlene; his nieces, Kim and Cindy; his nephew, Chris; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Paula Bixler, and his son, Joey Bixler.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Sacred Heart ICU in Spokane, Washington, for their exceptional care, kindness, and support during his final days.

A memorial service in his honor will be held on March 6, 2026, 1PM at Sherman-Campbell Funeral Home in Newport, Washington.

Gary's legacy of faith, service, and steadfast love will continue to live on in the lives of all who were blessed to know him.
