Gail Marie Geaudreau was born on July 20, 1953, to Anne and Wain Geaudreau. She grew up on the family ranch on Hoodoo Loop Road, halfway between Blanchard, ID and Newport, WA. She attended Idaho Hill Elementary and Newport High School (class of 1971). She was active in 4-H, winning awards for cooking, baking, and knitting. She also took voice lessons and was active in her high school chorus and drama club. The summer after high school graduation she worked as a hotel maid at Yellowstone National Park and continued to have a deep fondness for Yellowstone all of her adult life. Gail chose a career in the medical field and attended Kinman Business University in Spokane, graduating as a Medical Assistant. Her first job was in the lab at Tri-County Hospital in Deer Park, and due to a lack of apartments in town, her parents purchased a lot with a mobile home on it, where she resided most of her adult life. She went on to work as a phlebotomist at Holy Family in Spokane for more than 30 years. In 1989 she married Jeffrey Bass and they bought a house near Deer Park. They divorced a few years later, and Gail moved back into the mobile home, where her kind heart and love of animals led her to be the "crazy cat lady". Stray cats who ventured into her yard received food, affection, and a trip to the vet to be spayed or neutered. She also loved going to estate sales and craft fairs. Those who knew her will always remember her infectious laugh.

Gail's later years were greatly affected by physical and mental health challenges. The cumulative effect of chronic pain, hearing loss, and aging deteriorated her quality of life and affected her willingness to accept help from others. Gail passed away from natural causes at home with her cats.Gail was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Geaudreau in 1977, her mother, Anne Geaudreau in 2016, and her father, G. Wain Geaudreau in 2018. She is survived by her sister, Michelle Iaci, who resides near Austin, Texas.
