Frances Marie
Toulou-Dewey
Mar 10, 1942 — Jan 25, 2022
Ione
Frances Marie Toulou-Dewey (79) of lone, WA passed away peacefully in the early
morning hours of Tuesday, January 25, at Mount Carmel Hospital, Colville WA.
Frances was born on March 10,1942 in Nespelem WA., to Lew J Toulou and
Elizabeth M. Jerred-Toulou. Because of her parents' bloodline, she was a
proud member of the Coville Tribe of Indians. Frances grew up and
graduated from Metaline Falls High school. After graduating High School,
Frances married her High School sweetheart, Jack Dewey. They were
inseparable for over 62 years. They settled down in lone WA, where Jack
continues to reside to this day. Frances was a homemaker and raised two
children, Debbie Dewey-Arman and Jeff Dewey along with one foster
daughter, Rose King- O'Keefe. Nothing was more important to Frances than
her family. She worked right alongside her husband on the farm. She could
saddle and ride her horse, chase cattle, drive the tractor, bale hay, drive
hay truck, just as well as anyone could. Somewhere in all that she managed
to get dinners cooked to keep her family fed. She was a patient and
understanding lady. She was understanding when baby calves, baby horses,
pigs and rabbits needed to come into the house to be able to save the
animal's life. Frances loved animals and looked forward every year for the
wild turkeys to come back so she could feed them corn. She even had a
female deer that she could get close enough to feed by hand occasionally.
Frances was a proud wife, a mother, a grandma, and a great grandma.
Most of all, Frances was a friend.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Lew J Toulou, Elizabeth M. Jerred-
Dinger, her oldest brother William (Bill) R. Toulou, her younger brothers,
Lew (Duane) W. Toulou and Norman J Toulou. She is survived by her
husband Jack of lone WA, her children, Debbie Dewey-Arman (and Larry),
Jeff Dewey both of lone, WA. and foster daughter Rose King-O'Keefe of
Alger, WA. 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Frances will be laid to rest on Friday, February 4 th , 2022, at 10:30 am at Riverside Cemetery, located in lone WA. With the weather being cold and snowy, there will only be graveside services at this time. A second memorial will be held later in the Spring.
