Edna E. Abrams Bass
Early in the morning of Monday, July 6, 2026, Edna Abrams Bass, 94 years-old passed peacefully in her sleep in Newport, Washington. She was born to Arthur and Gladys Selleck during a blizzard on March 6, 1932, at their small cabin in Newman Lake, Washington.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Corydon Abrams, her husband of 58 years, her brother Lawrence Waterbly, her sisters Lola Johnson, Peggy Carlisle and Jean Randolph. She is survived by her husband Howard Bass, her sister Donna Siemers, her children and their spouses, Dale and Shari Abrams, Shirley and Ken Brown, and Patricia and Tom Milliken. She had 7 grandchildren, Jessie Walker, Jamie Walker, Sarah Allie, Adam Allie, Curtis Hamond, Sharlee Abrams and Levi Abrams, and 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who all loved her dearly.
During her lifetime, she worked in many professions including photography, a shared passion between her and her husband Cory, a real estate agent, a contractor and a long-haul truck driver. Her favorite occupation was being the proud wife of a wheat farmer. She also volunteered her time as a peer counselor for aging adults, and a variety of youth organizations. She always saw the best in others, and was willing to roll up her sleeves and help when needed. Another passion she shared with her husband Corydon was flying. She held a private pilots license and was a member of the Inter-mountain Chapter of the Ninety-Nines. She served as Cory''s co-pilot as they criss-crossed the United States and Central America. Beyond a love for single-engined airplane travel, she traveled to almost all of the
continents. Europe, Asia, Australia, the Arctic and all of the Americas.
A service will be held at St. Bernadette Parish, 545 E. Providence Ave., Spokane, Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 11:30 a.m., followed by a graveside service at Spokane Memorial Gardens, 5909 S. Cheney-Spokane Road at 1 p.m., and a celebration of life/picnic at Franklin Park in Spokane at 2:30 p.m.
