Duane "Mickey" Wilkerson passed away peacefully, June 29 at his Priest Lake home after a short battle with cancer.

Mickey was born on May 19, 1945, to Adeline and Ernie Wilkerson, the youngest of 3 boys. Mickey was a Shadle Park class of 1963 graduate. He worked for Northern Pacific and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroads for 38 years, serving various roles but primarily as a Train Master, until his retirement in 2000.

Mickey played softball in the Spokane area for various teams and was inducted into the Spokane Metro Softball Association Hall of Fame in 2018. He loved snowmobiling, boating and golfing at Priest Lake. He continued year-round golf in Mesquite NV after becoming a snowbird in 2009.

Mickey is survived by wife Gayle, daughters Kelley and Kristi, son-in-law Sean Freeman, his favorite grandchildren Hailey and Logan Freeman, several nieces and nephews and close family friend( 3rd daughter) Stacy Bebee.

Graveside services will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, 5410 W. Monroe Road, Deer Park, WA on Friday July 10, 2026 11:00am at Woodland Cemetery Deer Park, Wa.
