FURLOTT, DOUGLAS H.

He was born on October 2, 1944 in Spokane, Washington and passed away at home on August 29, 2021 in Newport, Washington.  He fought hard to get over double pneumonia but he lost that battle.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Nancy, in Newport, Washington and two sons, Jon D. Furlott and Andrew James Furlott, two precious grandsons, Connor and Lyam who reside in Spokane, Washington.

Doug loved the life he had on the beautiful Pend Oreille River where we built our home in 1997.  He was a homebody, and his passion was taking care of the property, especially a pristine lawn.  Doug knew all our neighbors and loved talking to everyone who walked by.  He also was a very generous man and cared for and helped many of them over the years.

Doug worked for the State of Washington for 38 years at Eastern State Hospital as a nurse and then a painter.  When he retired, he had his own painting business for several years and he was a perfectionist at his craft. He will surely be missed by so many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be an open house on September 11, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at our home in Newport, Washington.
