Delvin LeRoy Tucker of Newport, Washington peacefully passed away at his home on October 11, 2022 with his wife, Joyce Losh and friend Andrea by his side.
He was born on December 30, 1936 to Frank and Emma Tucker. He worked at numerous jobs in his younger years; he picked cotton, worked in the fields, worked on a turkey farm, raised guinea pigs to sell as well as working in sawmills. He moved around a lot when he was young.
He married Louise Hatfield on May 3 rd 1954. They had five children: Linda Voorhies, Delvin (Brad) Tucker, Terry Lee Tucker, Kim Edwards, and Mark Tucker.
Delvin logged and was a horse trader and raised cattle for 52 years He married Lenora Smith Tucker and lived with her until she passed away on January 23 rd 2011 after a long illness. Delvin married Joyce Losh on August 11 th 2012.
Delvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, and horseback riding, He loved to go on trail rides. He enjoyed going to elk camp in the fall and hunting with his children and grandchildren. He was a long-time member of the Newport Baptist Church. He had a strong faith in the Lord.
Delvin was preceded in death by his Grandpa Harry who raised him for several years. Also, his parents Frank Tucker, and Emma Rhodes Topp, daughter Terry Lee Tucker, brothers Benny Tucker, Dale Tucker, Verril Tucker, Richard Rhodes, Robert Rhodes and Rick Topp. Preceded in death by children Mark Tucker, Mike Smith and Diane Smith as well as wife Lenora Tucker.
Delvin is survived by his wife Joyce Losh, sister Marsha Aines, and children Linda (Rick) Voorhies, Brad Tucker, Kim Edwards, and Debbie Smith. As well as 14 grandchildren, 36 great and great, great grandchildren and numerous niece and nephews.
There will be a memorial service on October 22 nd at 1:00 at Newport Southern Baptist, 1 mile south of Newport on Hwy 2. Potluck to follow service.
