Dejay Erwin
Troupe
Mar 10, 2000 — Apr 15, 2023
Newport
DeJay Erwin Troupe was taken from us on April 15th, 2023, in Ephrata Washington due to a tragic car accident. He was born Erwin Rene Valdez-Lopez on March 10th, 2000, in Seattle Washington to Colleen Comeslast and stepfather Javier Ramos. Dejay joined the Troupe family and was adopted by his dad, Daniel Troupe, in 2010 and thereafter raised in Cusick. In high school, Dejay played football and golf where he graduated from Cusick High School in 2018 as a Panther. He started his career as a cook, then worked as a caregiver and most recently in the drilling industry. He & his dad loved to camp & travel. Their most memorable trip was to Panama where they heard and saw howler monkeys, crocodiles, and slept on a boat on the Panama Canal. They recently moved to a house on the Pend Oreille River where he was looking forward to a summer of swimming. He had a host of friends with whom he played airsoft, video games, watched anime & listened to music. He loved to cook & try different foods, but he and his dad had a rule, they would never go to any restaurant twice, they only broke that rule if it was a Mexican restaurant or a Thai place and sometimes Chinese or maybe Italian or Vietnamese or even a good American place especially if they had rice and chopsticks. He was loved by many and had so many friends for such a shy guy. Dejay spent as much time as he could hanging out with friends and was loved by his family. He was a proud Guatemalan and Blackfeet Sioux native and was an enrolled member of the Fort Peck tribe in NE Montana. He was very proud to be an uncle and he is survived by his dad, Colleen, Javier, brother Mac, sister Maria, many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He has joined his brother Jave in heaven. A viewing will be held at Sherman-Campell Funeral Home in Newport, WA on Thursday April 20 th from 9AM to 5PM. A Memorial service will be held Saturday 22nd at 11:00 AM at the Camas Center 1821 North LeClerc Rd, Cusick WA, 99119.
