Deborah "Debbie" Niles Johnson

Our beloved sister, Deborah "Debbie" Niles Johnson, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Newport, Washington, on February 13.

Born in Malden, Massachusetts, Debbie was the second daughter of William and Agnes Niles. She spent her early years in Wakefield and Rowley before graduating from Newburyport High School with the Class of 1971.

Debbie dedicated much of her career to Texaco, Inc., starting in Chelsea, Massachusetts, before transferring to Chicago and later Long Beach, California. It was in Long Beach that she met her soulmate and husband, Joseph "Joe" Johnson. Together, they built a life filled with love and adventure, eventually settling in their dream home on the Pend Oreille River in Cusick, Washington. There, Debbie worked as a 9-1-1 dispatcher for the Sheriff's Department until her retirement—a role that reflected her deep commitment to helping others.

Debbie had a special place in her heart for her dogs, whom she lovingly referred to as her "kids." They brought her immense joy, and she cared for them with unwavering devotion.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Agnes Niles; her sister, Denise; her husband, Joe; and her niece, Jessica.

Debbie leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her sisters Diane, Darlene, and Deidre; nieces Catherine, Jennifer, Kathleen, Wendy, Dawn, Samantha, Shelby, and Angel; nephew Jacob; as well as many great-nieces and nephews, cherished friends, and former coworkers.

Debbie's kindness, strength, and generous spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
