Dean McGill passed away on May 7th in Spokane, WA surrounded by his loving family. Born to "Snap" Vernon and Doris (Curtis) McGill on May 13th, 1945, on "Mother's Day, in Spokane, WA.

Dean attended 12 years of school at Cusick, graduating in 1963. Summers found him bucking bales for area ranchers.  After high school, he worked at the Pend Oreille Mines and ran a gas station in Cusick. He then moved to the Seattle area, where he worked in food service for many years, which took him to Texas and Oregon, opening new stores for Herfys Hamburgers, as district manager for the company.  Later, he was District Manager for PHOTOMAT in Portland, Oregon. In 1989 he moved to the Spokane area where he worked for insurance companies, Olivetti and Premera Blue Cross in the claims and billing departments, until he retired. He also had a children's photography company, with his wife Pamela, called "Little Angels" for 4 years. Dean enjoyed many hobbies including Rockhounding, mushroom hunting, photography, woodworking, fishing and keeping a beautiful yard. He loved spending time with family at holiday gathering and reunions and loved having his grandchildren around. He was proceeded in death by his parents, several cousins, and many aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pamela, brother Larry McGill (Barb), children Shawn McGill (Tina), Chad McGill, Tammie McCoy, and Delvin McGill, ten grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren Dean was a loving and caring man and was loved and adorned by all who knew him.  The world was certainly a better place with him in it. He will be missed by many.

A memorial in Dean's honor will be held Saturday, June 21st at 1:00 p.m. at the Usk Community Hall, with a Potluck Lunch to follow.

Donations in his name may be made to the Usk Community Hall or the Hospice House of Spokane.
