Darrel James Blake born 2/17/1941 eldest son of Jim and Toots Blake, crossed over to peace on 3/3/23 after battling Alzheimer's for several years. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a husband, a father, and a papa. He was a farmer, a firefighter, a first mate, a pilot, and a Marine. He was honest and true. He was quiet but wise and he always had a twinkle in those blue eyes. Honor guard service for Darrel will be held at the Newport Cemetery on 3/18/2023 at 1PM. A memorial service will be held at the Lutheran Church immediately following. Both services are open to the community. Anyone wishing to pay their respects are welcome.
