Dale Allan Dwight

January 19, 1929-February 13, 2023

Dale Dwight (94) of Oldtown, Idaho passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Monday, February 13, 2023 at Newport Washington hospital.

Dale was born in Ferndale Washington, the oldest son of Myrtle and Allan Dwight.  His childhood years were spent on Lopez Island moving to Ferndale to finish school.  He enlisted in the army in October 1950 and served two years. Dale was wounded during the Korean war and received a purple heart.

After he was discharged from the military Dale went to work in the fishing industry as a deckhand.  Over the years he moved up to superintendent.  He retired in 1994 and in 2002 moved to Oldtown, Idaho.

Dale leaves behind Susan, his wife of 35 years, Sons Craig (Vicki) and Brian, daughters Pam (Steve) Granahan, Janet Dwight with (Patrick Gemperline), and Kaye (Tony) Smith, 2 sisters and 1 brother, 11 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Dale will be held later in the year.
