Daina Ann
Gray (Née Kendle)
Mar 27, 1977 — Jun 27, 2025
Daina Ann Gray (née Kendle), age 48, passed away in the early hours of June 27th, 2025, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, Washington.
Daina faced a sudden and serious medical emergency that led to a stroke. Though her final hours were not easy, she showed great strength, and her fight is now over. She is finally at rest.
Daina was born on March 27, 1977, in Boise, Idaho. She was a wild and free-spirited soul, known for her untamable nature and fierce sense of justice. She loved the outdoors, finding peace in nature and joy in camping trips under the stars. She cared deeply for those she loved, building strong bonds with friends she considered family. She held fast to her own morals and stood up for what she believed in. Even through life's hardships, her spirit remained bold, untamed, and full of fire.
Daina leaves behind three sons — Isaac, Will, and Gavin — who she loved more than anything. In her final writings, she expressed how deeply she would miss them and wished nothing more than for her children to reconnect, to heal, and to find strength in one another. She also leaves behind grandchildren who will surely miss her warmth, her energy, and the love she would have brought into their lives.
A public viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11th, followed by a funeral service starting at 3:00 p.m. at Sherman and Campbell Funeral Home in Newport, Washington.
Anyone and everyone are welcome to come pay their condolences.
A time and place for her Wake and burial are still to be determined and will be shared once finalized.
May your spirit ride the wind to the far halls beyond the veil.
May the Allfather welcome you, and may the ancestors light your path.
In this life, you were wild and fierce — a storm no chain could hold.
Though your battle is over, you will not be forgotten.
I will speak your name in every fire I kindle, in every mountain wind I hear.
Hail, and farewell, Mother. Until we meet again in the next great saga.
Heill ok far vel.
-Isaac Gray
